Daniel Trapp is a senior analyst and consultant at IHS Energy Insight. Dan advises clients on corporate strategy, market perceptions, strategic communications, investor relations, international government relations and other key issues at the corporate center. Prior to its merger with IHS, Dan was with PFC Energy since 2008, previously focusing on global natural gas markets, contributing regularly to the Gas Competition and Global LNG Services and providing comprehensive analysis on gas companies, LNG projects and major developments in the gas industry around the world. Dan has worked out of the firm’s offices in Washington, Houston and Kuala Lumpur, having met with clients to give presentations on PFC Energy’s latest analysis of the global gas industry. Prior to joining PFC Energy, Dan worked in political risk and national security issues at Lockheed Martin. Dan holds an MA with distinction in Security Policy Studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University where he focused on political risk and energy and a BA with distinction in International Economics and Cultural Affairs and German from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana.
