Glenn Schatz is the Small Commercial Buildings (<50,000 SF) Lead at the Building Technology Office (BTO) in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The BTO commercial buildings effort researches and deploys advanced technologies and systems to reduce energy consumption in commercial buildings. Industry partners and national laboratories help identify market needs and solutions to accelerate the development of highly energy-efficient buildings. Before joining DOE, Glenn was President and COO of ECORE Ventures and ECORE Living, providers of engineering consulting and project development services, specializing in energy efficient building, integration of renewable energy solutions, and developing sustainable communities. Prior to founding ECORE, Glenn served in U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine watch officer, naval nuclear engineer, and adjunct professor at the U.S. Naval Academy.
