Joseph Hammond is the Country Editor for Qatar and Indonesia at The Oil and Gas Year, where he researches and reports on the petroleum sector for weekly and annual petroleum publications. He was previously a reporter and researcher for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE), and a political reporter for The European, The Baltic Times, The Diplomat, Religion Dispatches, Al-Masry Al Youm, JO Magazine (Jordan), Asian Journal of Public Affairs, and The Arabist. He was also a writer and researcher for the Princeton University Press, and a reporter for the International Herald Tribune/Daily News Egypt (Cairo). Hammond also worked at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency as a Public Relations Assistant. He has a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of California at Irvine, and a master’s degree in history from California State University at Long Beach.
