The Emerging Leaders in Environmental and Energy Policy Network

February 27, 2015

On February 27th, ELEEP-member Aurelia Figueroa of the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut fuer Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) presented the results of a German Federal Ministry of Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ) funded project entitled "Managing the Transition to Sustainable and Inclusive Energy System" at the Ecologic Institute in Berlin. The project explored how behavioural insights can inform energy efficiency initiatives to increase uptake of energy efficiency measures.

Energy frequently accounts for a high portion of expenditures by firms and households in developing and emerging economies. Climate change mitigation, business competitiveness, fuel poverty and energy security are just some of the pursuits which may benefit from energy efficiency. Aurelia Figueroa delved into these and other related issues as part of a brown bag lunch event.
