Alexander Franke is a research associate at the German Advisory Council on the Environment (SRU), where he focuses on energy and climate policy as well as socio-ecological transitions and energy transition discourses. Alexander completed a postgraduate in political science with a specialization on energy transitions and environmental policy at the Free University Berlin. In 2012, he interned with the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation’s office in Washington DC to work on the foreign perception of the German Energiewende. Alexander continued to work for the foundation’s German energy transition project, which aims at explaining the German Energiewende to an international audience, from 2013-2015.
