Beren is a Fellow at the Center for Energy and Sustainable Development at WVU College of Law where he provides legal and policy analysis on state and federal energy and climate policies. His work focuses on the role of state energy regulatory agencies in the deployment of clean energy technologies and the potential for these resources to provide additional pathways for compliance with forthcoming EPA rules limiting carbon dioxide emissions from power plants. Beren holds a JD from Pace Law School and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
