Job Title:
Solar Program Director

Clare Magee is the solar program director at MP2 Energy, the retail electricity provider that launched a synthetic net energy metering product to facilitate SolarCity’s entry into Texas. MP2’s solar product is the most popular residential solar program in the state.

Clare is published in utility valuation of distributed solar and community solar business models, and was hired by American Electric Power to advise its C-suite on distributed generation strategy across their 11-state territory in 2013.

Clare’s energy experience goes beyond solar. She spent 2008-2011 with the U.S. Green Building Council, where she worked with field staff on LEED and other energy efficiency-related advocacy initiatives at the state and local levels. She advised a diverse array of energy startups in the clean tech division of the Austin Technology Incubator in Austin, Texas. Most recently, Clare was a consultant with KPMG in the Technology Enablement practice of their Power & Utilities group.

Clare obtained a master’s degree in energy policy analysis from the Lyndon B. Johnson School at the University of Texas at Austin. She chaired the university’s annual energy conference and founded the university-wide Longhorn Energy Club – an energy-agnostic group composed of hundreds of graduate and PhD students across the engineering, policy, law, earth science and MBA programs.
