Derek Dorn, a partner of Davis & Harman LLP, leverages Washington know-how and technical proficiency to help clients advance priorities through the policymaking process. His law practice concentrates on legislative and regulatory matters related to taxation, benefits, and energy. He is particularly interested in policies at the intersection of tax, economic development, and energy. From 2008-2011, he served as Senior Finance Counsel to Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee Chairman Jeff Bingaman (D-NM), and as Staff Director of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources & Infrastructure. Earlier, Derek was Economic Policy Counsel to Senator Joseph Lieberman (ID-CT). Before entering public service, he managed a global investment research firm's Washington office. Derek began his legal career practicing tax, trust, and estate law with a global firm in New York. He is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center, sits on Yale Law School's Executive Committee, a Truman National Security Fellow, and an Atlantik-Brucke Foundation Young Leader.
