Policy Advisor
Jan Peelen (The Netherlands) is policy advisor at the Office of Infrastructure & Environment at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Washington D.C. He focuses on building partnerships on water, sustainable development and energy.
Before moving to D.C, he fulfilled several positions at the Dutch ministry of Infrastructure and Environment: he was program officer for the Dutch International Water Policy Program, aiming to integrate ‘aid’ and ‘trade’. He has also been involved in the majority of recent national energy and highway infrastructure projects in The Netherlands as a specialist on environmental impact assessments and strategic advisor.
Jan holds a Master of Science degree in Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Amsterdam.
