Julia Elkin is a Project Manager with the California State Coastal Conservancy where she works with federal, state, and local partners to develop and implement coastal climate adaptation and public access projects in Southern California. Her particular interest is promoting nature based infrastructure as a means to increase urban resilience to drought and sea level rise. Prior to working in state government, Julia conducted research on national forest management for The Wilderness Society and developed public education programs for the Smithsonian Institution's Environmental Research Center.
Julia received her MS in Environmental Policy and Conservation Ecology from the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources where she was a Wyss Scholar.
