Marcel Viëtor is a Desk Officer for International Water Policy at the German Federal Foreign Office, where he focuses on Central Asia and the Middle East. Previously, he worked at the German Council on Foreign Relations where he was a Program Officer for Energy and Climate at the Alfred von Oppenheim Center for European Policy Studies and Head of the Foreign Energy Policy Program. He graduated from a German-Russian Dual Degree Master Program in International Relations from MAIB Berlin/Potsdam and MGIMO Moscow and has a Magister Artium in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from the University of Hamburg.
