Stacy Closson is Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky’s Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce. From January to July 2016 she is a Fulbright fellow at National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan.  She received her PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science in International Relations with a focus on how energy insecurity contributes to state weakening in Eurasia. Dr. Closson came to the Patterson School from the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars in Washington, D.C. where she researched Russian energy politics in Europe and Eurasia.  Before that she worked in think tanks in Berlin and Zurich.  From 1996-2002 she worked in the U.S. Department of Defense as a political-military analyst, entering as a Presidential Management Fellow. Dr. Closson’s latest book by MIT Press is ‘Energy, Economics, and Geopolitical Futures: Eight Long-Range Scenarios’.
