Ryan Mulholland is a Renewable Energy Trade Specialist in the Office of Energy and Environmental Industries in the Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration. Mr. Mulholland covers the entirety of the renewable energy sector, but focuses the majority of his work on wind power.

Mr. Mulholland was recently awarded the Department of Commerce Gold Medal Award, the most prestigious award given by the Department for his work helping to eliminate China's local content requirement on wind turbines. He oversees a Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) grant to El Camino College's Center for International Trade and Development to undertake the Green Export Enabler Program.

Mr. Mulholland co-led the development of the multi-agency Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Export Initiative (RE4I) and coordinates the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. In May, he participated in Secretary Locke's Clean Energy Trade Missions to China and Indonesia. Previously, he organized a renewable energy trade policy mission to Indonesia. He is the author of a Renewable Energy in Indonesia Market Assessment Report and the ITA Checklist for Corporate Energy Efficiency.

Previously, Mr. Mulholland was a renewable energy specialist at Sentech Incorporated, a federal contracting firm working for the U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Office. He received a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. in American Government from Georgetown University. He lives in Arlington, Virginia.
