Sarah Abdelrahim is a Policy Analyst at the US Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., where she coordinates and evaluates a range of cross-cutting issues that impact the Department’s responsibilities. Much of her work focuses on the Department’s responsibilities in the Arctic. Under the US Chairmanship of the Arctic Council (2015-2017), she is working to enhance circumpolar cooperation on climate adaptation and resilience in the region.

Previously, Sarah worked at the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, Kenya on a number of global environmental assessments. She has also worked with the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, managing climate change impacts and adaptation programs. Sarah has a MA in Climate and Society from Columbia University and a B.S. in Physical Sciences from the University of Maryland.
